Red Flag Warning Issued For Wednesday For Areas South And East Of Winslow

A Red Flag Warning has been issued for later today east of Flagstaff. The National Weather Service says the warning will be in effect from noon until 6 p.m. for Winslow, Holbrook the White Mountains and areas of the Navajo Nation close to Interstate-40. Forecasters say expect winds 15-to-25 miles an hour with gusts up to 35 miles an hour at times. Humidities are expected to be low so a start to a fire could grow into a wildfire quickly due to the conditions. If you are traveling today, don’t toss a cigarette out of a vehicle and if you are towing a trailer, make sure your chains are up off the pavement. If you see smoke, call 9-1-1.
