A Red Flag Warning is in effect from until six p.m. tonight for areas east of Flagstaff. The National Weather Service says due to strong winds and low humidities, fire danger is high for portions of the eastern Mogollon Rim and the Little Colorado River Valley. Cities in the warning area include Winslow, Holbrook, Snowflake-Taylor and southern part of the Navajo Nation. Forecasters say winds will be 20-to-25 miles per hour with gusts up to 35 miles per hour. If you are travelling along Interstate-40 today, make sure you don’t toss cigarettes out of vehicle and if you are pulling a trailer, make sure your chains aren’t dragging on the highway. If you are in a high profile vehicle, use caution.
