Red Flag Warning In Effect Today For Areas Of Coconino And Yavapai Counties

A Red Flag Warning is in effect Thursday for portions of western Coconino and Yavapai counties. Affected areas include Prescott, Prescott Valley, Valle and Seligman. The warning covers portions the Coconino, Kaibab and Prescott national forests. The National Weather Service says winds are expected to be 15-to-25 miles per hour with gusts up to 35 miles per hour. Low humidities, thanks to the exit of the Monsoon for now, means fire danger will be high. Any fires that start, could spread quickly. If you are driving, do not throw your cigarette out of your vehicle and if you are pulling a trailer, make sure chains are up off the highway. If you see smoke, call 9-1-1.
