A Red Flag Warning is in effect today for portions of eastern Arizona from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. The warning is in effect for areas east of Flagstaff including Winslow, Holbrook, the Navajo Nation and the White Mountains. The National Weather Service says winds will be 15-to-25 miles per hour with gusts up to 45 miles per hour at times. Humidities are low and many portions of forest land are tinderbox dry. With conditions today, a simple spark could start the next wildfire. If you are out and about today, use caution while driving, don’t throw cigarettes out of the vehicle, make sure if you are pulling a trailer that your chains don’t drag and is you see smoke, call 911.
