Red Flag Warning And A Wind Advisory Issued For Most Of Northern Arizona For Sunday

A Red Flag Warning and a Wind Advisory will be in effect Sunday across most of Northern Arizona. Both will run until 8 p.m. Affected areas are Flagstaff, Doney Park, Prescott, Prescott Valley, the Grand Canyon, Williams, Holbrook, Winslow and some of the Navajo Nation. Winds are forecast to be 20-to-30 miles per hour with gusts up the 50 miles and hour at times. With high winds and low humidities, if a fire were to start, it would spread quickly. If you are driving Sunday, make sure if you’re pulling a trailer to keep your chains up off the road, and don’t toss a lit cigarette out of your window. If you see smoke in the forest, and it’s not part of an active fire, call 9-1-1.
