The loud sound of train horns should be a thing of the past now in one part of Flagstaff. Thanks to a lightning strike back on August 12th, the recorded train horn warning system at one of the train crossings was rendered inoperable. The City of Flagstaff announced Tuesday that the “wayside horn system at the intersection of Route 66 and Fanning Crossing was repaired this morning. Horns coming from the train should no longer be blowing as a train goes by.” Many residents have complained to the city that the horns had become too loud since the incident.
