President Trump has signed an executive order for a task force to look into a number of unsolved cases involving missing women and children on tribal lands. The executive order comes after Attorney General William Barr’s rollout of a nationwide plan on Friday. Trump was joined by Barr and several administration officials, as well as a number of Native American tribal leaders, when signing the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons Initiative. The initiative will invest one-point-five million dollars in hiring specialized coordinators in the offices of eleven U.S. attorneys. They will be responsible for coming up with protocols for a more coordinated response to violence against indigenous people.
