The Coconino National Forest has a few prescribed burns planned this week. A 302 acre burn is set for Tuesday, eight miles northwest of Flagstaff near the Fort Valley Trailhead. The burn is set to last Tuesday, but done in two blocks. Smoke is expected to move to the northeast toward Schultz Pass, potentially impacting Doney Park, Baderville, Fort Valley and the Highway 180 corridor. On Wednesday, fire managers plan to burn 833 acres five miles northwest of Flagstaff, south of Wing Mountain and north of Bellemont. Smoke is expected to move to the northeast. Smoke could affect Fort Valley, Snowbowl and possibly Interstate-40. A 29-hundred acre burn is set for Tuesday through Thursday in the southern end of the forest in the Mogollon Rim Ranger District.
