Prescribed Burn Set Near Flagstaff On Thursday

Coconino National Forest fire managers have scheduled a prescribed burn in Flagstaff Thursday. Fire crews will burn 257 acres two miles east of the Pine Canyon Golf Course and a mile south of the Continental County Club subdivision. The burn will last a day and smoke is expected to move toward the northeast and may impact I-40 east of Flagstaff. Smoke could also settle in low-lying areas surrounding the burn and Walnut Canyon. The Flagstaff Loop Trail will be rerouted during the burn to keep users safe.
