The Prescott Valley Police Department warned residents about a person who was impersonating police officers and pulling people over in the town. After an investigation, it turned out that report was false and there wasn’t anyone pulling people over as a false officer. The person making the claim has been arrested and charged with providing false information to law enforcement, which is a misdemeanor. There are other such investigations going on in other jurisdictions in the Quad Cities area, therefore citizens still need to be alert and report any suspicious activity they see or become aware of. False reporting is taken seriously and people will be prosecuted if caught doing so.
