Prescott Valley Police Ask Residents To Use Caution After Wildlife Sightings

Prescott Valley Police issue a warning to the public after a black bear and a mountain lion were found in town recently. Residents reported a juvenile black bear Monday near Roberts Market at 64-50 Viewpoint Drive. Once officers arrived, the bear fled westbound where Arizona Game and Fish officials were notified. Later that evening, the bear was seen in the Granville subdivision jumping block wall fences. Arizona Game and Fish were notified one last time before they took over the investigation. In the same evening a mountain lion was spotted at Fain Park, but did not pose a threat. While the weather is warming up and wildlife are coming out, Arizona Game and Fish advises people to not approach wildlife, make themselves large and imposing as possible, stand upright and wave your arms, make loud noises, and never run. If you see wildlife acting aggressive towards people please call the Arizona Department of Game and Fish dispatch at (623) 236-7201.
