Prescott Valley Police arrested a man Wednesday after he recently tried to change a check from five-dollars to five-thousand dollars at an area market. Police say they arrested Juan Manuel Alejandre in the area of North Robert Road and East Route 69 at around 3:54 p.m. He was pulled over driving a red 2021 Ford Expedition, which was reported as overdue from Budget Rental at the Prescott Airport. Alejandre is accused of altering a check back on August 13th at the Azteca Market. He allegedly changed the five-dollar check to make it read five-thousand dollars. He gave the check to the clerk to resolve three other bad checks he had cashed there, which totaled $58-hundred. He was arrested on fraud and forgery charges.
