The Prescott Valley Police Department is reminding pet owners when your pet out of the house, and it leaves a “present,” pick it up and throw it away. Officials say they have received numerous complaints regarding pet owners not cleaning up their pet’s droppings on local trails and walking paths. A town ordinance requires pet owners, or anyone having custody of an animal, be responsible for that animal’s solid waste deposit on public or private property without the owner’s consent. It’s also unlawful for pet owners to refuse to clean up after their pets. A person could be cited and pay up to a $250 fine. So police say “It’s your duty to take care of your pet’s “doody.”
