A Prescott Valley man was killed in a single vehicle motorcycle accident Monday afternoon in Prescott. Police responded to State Route 89A and Granite Dells Parkway at around 1:08 p.m. Witnesses told officers the driver of the motorcycle, 74-year-old Francis Gary, was travelling eastbound on State Route 89A on a 2017 Harley Davidson Road Glide. It was going eastbound when Gary pulled alongside another vehicle in the lane next to him. Witnesses say Gary made some hand motions at the other vehicle before he drifted into the unpaved median. He attempted to maintain control of the motorcycle until he lost control and was thrown from the bike. Gary sustained significant injuries and was taken to Yavapai Regional Medical Center East, where we was pronounced dead. Mr. Gary was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Police say impairment is not believed to be a factor in the accident and the cause is under investigation. If anyone has information about the accident, call Prescott Police at (928) 777-1949.
