Prescott Valley Man Arrested On Drug Charges At An Area Hotel

A Prescott Valley man was arrested Tuesday after authorities found drugs in his hotel room. Yavapai County Sheriff’s officials say Prescott Valley Police were called to the GreenTree Inn in the 78-hundred block of East State Route 69 at around 5 p.m. for a trespassing complaint. The caller claims people in a certain room were refusing to pay their rent. Officers went to the room to evict them. When they entered the room they saw a woman appearing to be in some type of medical distress so an ambulance was called. While doing a welfare check, officers found a glass pipe with white residue, likely meth, in plain view in the bathroom with a container or meth and jars of marijuana. During the investigation a man and woman pulled up to the inn. When asked, 50-year-old Robert Caruso told officers the woman with him was his wife and the woman in distress was his 18-year-old daughter and the drugs belonged to him. The teen was cleared with no significant medical conditions. Caruso was booked on drug charges, including the sale of a controlled substance. He is currently being held without bond. His wife was released pending likely charges.
