Prescott Police Seize Over A Pound Of Meth During A Traffic Stop

Prescott Police seized over a pound of meth during a traffic stop last week. An officer stopped a black Toyota Corolla in the 12-hundred block of East Gurley Street last Friday at around 10:50 p.m. on an equipment violation. The driver was 47-year-old Tammy Nelson from California. During the stop a silver Mitsubishi Eclipse pulled up behind the car. That vehicle was driven by 45-year-old Kelly Osborne, also from California. He asked the officer why he pulled his girlfriend over and continued to interfere with the stop. While talking to Nelson, the officer noticed drug paraphernalia in the car in which she told the officer it was a meth pipe. Officers found over a pound of meth inside a handbag on the floor of the car. Osborne denied a search of his car, so a K-9 officer responded. The dog alerted to a possible substance. Officers found another half-ounce of meth and more drug paraphernalia. Both were arrested and booked into the Yavapai County Jail on numerous felony charges.
