Prescott Police have arrested a man in connection with multiple acts of graffiti throughout the city. Police searched a residence in the 800 block of West Gurley Street Tuesday morning at around 7:45 a.m. During the search 22-year-old Kane Smith was confronted with evidence from the home and he admitted to his involvement in the crimes. Police spent two weeks investigating seven cases of graffiti tagging around Prescott, where the word “enak” was spray painted. The word is an ananym for Kane. City officials found 22 tags that were consistent with the investigation. In total over 15-hundred dollars of damage was done to public and private property. Smith was booked into the Yavapai County Jail and charged with felony criminal damage.
