Prescott Police Arrest A Man Wanted In Connection With A Shooting In Las Vegas

Prescott Police SWAT arrested a man Thursday who was wanted in connection with a shooting in Las Vegas Wednesday. Police were contacted by Las Vegas Police at around 4:30 p.m. saying a man they were looking for could be at a Prescott area hotel. Officers went to the hotel in the 200-block of South Cortez Street and found the vehicle connected to the suspect, 38-year-old Anibal Delgado Junior. Police on scene called in SWAT to help with the arrest. As they were arriving, officers received more information that Delgado had a woman with him and she had texted family members that she was possibly being held against her will and feared for her life. Soon after, the two were seen getting into the vehicle and leaving the hotel. Moments later, officers tried to block the intersection of Gurley and Granite streets, however Delgado was able to force his way around the blockade and turn north onto Granite Street, sideswiping an unmarked police vehicle in the process. Delgado drove at a high rate of speed north on Granite Street where he encountered a dead end. He tried to turn around and drive back south, but he ran into a police vehicle. Delgado still tried to drive out of the area, ramming a second police vehicle causing significant damage to both vehicles. The woman was able to get out of the car and was taken away by SWAT officers. Delgado tried to get out and flee, but officers were quick to stop him and take him into custody. Delgado was booked into the Yavapai County Jail on numerous felonies and the warrant out of Nevada.
