The Prescott National Forest will be performing thinning operations over the next two to three months in the Camp Wood area. The Connell Stewardship Project thinning is needed to improve the health of the forest while also attempting to reduce bark beetle outbreaks, which currently impact the forest. Depending on weather and soil conditions, Forest Road 702 will be closed while contractors begin working east of Yolo Ranch and south of Camp Wood Road. The operation will gradually move across 627 acres with signs and closures posted accordingly. For more information on the Connell Stewardship Project, visit the Prescott National Forest’s website.
