Prescott National Forest fire managers are planning to burn debris piles on the Bradshaw Ranger District, possibly as early as Thursday. The burns will take place near Groom Creek, in and around Lynx Lake, Walker Road, Goldwater Lake and near the White Spar Campground. Recent rains and higher humidity has provided the right conditions for the burns. Fire managers expect smoke impacts to be light. Pile burning helps to reduce hazardous fuels in the wildland urban interface and increases ecosystem and community resilience. Once started, the burns are expected to continue as long as favorable conditions allow.
