A Prescott man was convicted of multiple crimes earlier this week. Forty-one-year-old Richard Brannan was found guilty of aggravated assault, criminal trespass and resisting arrest by a Yavapai County jury Tuesday. Superior Court Judge Krista Carmen also found Brannan guilty of criminal damage. The charges are as a result of an incident at a home in Prescott in November of 2018. The victim told Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies that he saw a dog on his property that he recognized belonging to Brannan through his remote camera system and was concerned his house was broken into. Deputies arrived and found several garden tools on the ground and broken glass. Upon a search they found Brannan in a bedroom. He then rushed one of the deputies and tried to get the officer’s gun. Brannan yelled at his dog to attack the deputies, but they were able to subdue Brannan and take him into custody. He faces a maximum of over 24 years in prison.
