A Prescott man is in jail after fleeing from police Tuesday night. Police responded to the AMPM Store at 286 Walker Road at around 6:53 p.m. on a report of a person in the store with an active felony warrant for his arrest. When they arrived they found 38-year-old Michael Bland standing outside of his vehicle. Bland refused officers commands and was able to get in his vehicle and quickly drive away on eastbound State Route 69 toward Prescott Valley. After a chase, officers deployed stop sticks at Old Black Canyon Highway and State Route 69. Bland stopped before the sticks and drove around them and continued on. Prescott Valley Police found Bland in a residential neighborhood off of Glassford Hill Road. He attempted to flee on foot, but was caught in the back yard of a house off of East Beecher Loop. Bland once again refused officers’ directions and physically resisted arrest. Officers tased Bland and was able to take him into custody. He was booked into the Yavapai County Jail on numerous charges related to the incident.
