Prescott Man Arrested After Crashing His Truck Into A Building And Fleeing The Scene Thursday

Prescott Police received a complaint of a disorderly man at a business on Thursday, who later crashed his vehicle into the roof of another business later that night. Officers were called to the 100-block of South Montezuma Street around 11:17 p.m. on the complaint, but the suspect had allegedly fled in his grey Chevy truck westbound on Goodwin Street. Officers were able to locate the vehicle and attempted to pull the driver over, but he fled again on Gurley Street driving at a high rate of speed. A little later, officers received a call that the same vehicle had collided with another vehicle near Gurley Street and Gail Gardner Way. The driver of the Chevy truck lost control of his vehicle and hit several large boulders, causing the vehicle to go airborne and collide with the roof of a business on Gurley Street. The vehicle finally came to a stop in the backyard of a residential home on Josephine Street. The suspect fled the scene on foot, but was later found at his parent’s home. He has been identified as 38-year-old Scott Madison from Prescott. Madison told investigators he stole his parents’ vehicle without them knowing and he had an active felony warrant out of California for his arrest. Madison was taken to Yavapai Regional Medical Center for treatment due to the accident. He is currently still being treated for injuries, but he has multiple pending felony charges against him.
