Prescott Man Arrested After Attacking A Woman Thursday Morning

A Prescott man was arrested Friday after assaulting a woman Thursday morning. Prescott Police were called to the La Quinta Inn on the 44-hundred block of East Highway 69 at around 6:45 a.m. When they arrived they found a woman bleeding from her face in the lobby of the hotel. Prior to officers arriving, a man came inside the lobby and left with the woman. Officers located a van that the two were living in near the hotel. The suspect was identified as 48-year-old Robert Walker from Prescott and the victim is possibly his girlfriend. Friday morning at around 6:40 a.m., officers came back to the van to try and find Walker and the victim. Officers spotted Walker as he ran into the woods. Officers lost sight of him and stopped the chase. The victim told officers she was attacked by Walker and was held against her will with a knife. She was threatened by him if she tried to leave. The victim told investigators Walker was armed with a knife and told her he didn’t want to go back to prison. Several officers from many agencies went looking for Walker. He was found at around 2 p.m. Friday in an area just to the south and east of Stoneridge and was taken into custody. Walker was booked into the Yavapai County Jail on charges of kidnapping, aggravated assault, threatening and intimidating, disorderly conduct and criminal damage.
