Students in Prescott and Prescott Valley return to school this week. Students in the Prescott Unified School District go back to classes on Thursday, while classes at Humboldt Unified School District School start Monday. Law enforcement officials remind drivers to look out for students walking to school or to bus stops. Also, allow extra time to get to their destinations so you aren’t rushed. Remember, all drivers must stop for school buses that are stopped with their warning lights displayed. Penalties for passing a school bus stopped with warning lights on are stiff. The first offense is a $250 fine, the second offense is a $750 fine and your license will be suspended. Citizens are urged to report motorists that refuse to stop for school buses.
