Prescott Fire Crews Tended To An Elderly Man Who Was Found Unconscious On Granite Mountain

Prescott Fire crews tended to a rescue of an elderly hiker on Granite Mountain Tuesday. Fire officials say an off-duty Sedona firefighter was hiking on the Metate Trail at about 2 p.m. with his kids when he came across a 72-year-old unconscious man. The firefighter called 911. When crews arrived they started to treat the patient. They carried the man down a trail to an awaiting off-highway vehicle that took him to an awaiting ambulance. He was evaluated on the scene and refused transport to a nearby hospital. The man was by himself at the time and there’s no word on what caused him to become unconscious.
