Positive Cases Of COVID-19 Goes Over 100 On The Navajo Nation

The number of positive cases of COVID-19 has gone over 100 on the Navajo Nation. Health officials say there are now 115 positive cases on the reservation as of Saturday. There has also been two coronavirus-related deaths on the Navajo Nation. Of the 115 cases, 57 are in Navajo County, 19 in Coconino County and 18 in Apache County. Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez has announced a reservation-wide curfew will be in effect starting Monday night from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. He also says “we’ve reached a point where our medical facilities and health care workers are in dire need of more Personal Protective Equipment, hospital beds and other critical resources.” He says it’s going to get worse if people continue to ignore orders to stay home as much as possible. Nez says they are working with members of Congress and state partners to get more help and supplies to the Navajo Nation.
