Police Flood The Standard In Flagstaff On Reports Of A Threat Of Someone Inside With A Weapon

Several law enforcement officers were called to The Standard student housing complex Thursday night on West Route 66 in Flagstaff. Flagstaff Police say a person was reportedly seen with a weapon and a bullet-proof vest on at the complex at around 5 p.m. Residents and staff at The Standard didn’t recognize the person so police were called. Officers from Flagstaff Police, NAU Police and the U.S. Marshal’s arrived at the complex to secure the property. After about two hours, 25-year-old Kestin Gray of Flagstaff was taken into custody without incident and didn’t have a weapon or a vest on him at the time. However, officers did find a gun and vest that was traced to Gray. He was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct in connection with the incident. The Standard has a no gun policy in effect on the property. The building was under lockdown and residents were not allowed to enter. After a short time residents were allowed to enter the first floor. The building has returned to normal. There were no injuries reported and the incident is under investigation.
