Plans Coming Together For 10th Anniversary Of The Deaths Of The 19 Firefighters Who Died Fighting The Yarnell Hill Fire

Plans are being made for the ten-year anniversary of the deaths of 19 Granite Mountain Hotshot fire fighters near Yarnell. On June 30th, 2013 the crew lost their lives fighting the Yarnell Hill Fire. To mark the occasion, two special memorial events are being planned for that day later this year. The morning of June 30th, the Granite Mountain Hotshots Memorial Team is arranging a private memorial for hotshot family members at the Arizona Pioneers’ Home Cemetery in Prescott. Then that afternoon, a public memorial is being planned at the Yavapai County Courthouse Square. More information about the events, and more that are being planned, will be released in the future.
