Perkins Timber Harvesting To Begin Log Harvest And Thinning This Week Near Munds Park

The U.S. Forest Service is teaming up with Perkins Timber Harvesting to thin out logs near Munds Park later this week. Harvesting will take place just west of Interstate 17, across from Munds Park due to the Munds Park Timber Sale. Harvesting and thinning improves wildlife habitat and reduces the overall risk for a catastrophic fire to the area of Munds Park. Logging truck traffic should be expected along Forest Roads 253, 253B, and the Willard Springs exit on I-17. Authorities remind motorists, hikers, and bikers to avoid the area and be aware of falling timber and truck traffic.
