One Person Was Killed In An Accident Near Kirkland In Yavapai County Tuesday

One person was killed and another was injured after a single-vehicle rollover accident on Highway 15 outside of Kirkland Tuesday. Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the area at around 6 p.m. When they arrived they found a blue-colored Mazda sedan in the north side of the road on its roof. Much of the roof had collapsed into the main body of the vehicle. Deputies saw a man in his 60s, injured, laying on his back. Next to the man was a 60-year-old woman who was dead. The man told deputies he was a passenger and he and the driver were coming from a bar in Yarnell. He said he had several beers and had taken some medications. The man said he and the woman were arguing when she slammed on the brakes and lost control. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, she wasn’t. The man was airlifted from the scene to a hospital for treatment. The accident remains under investigation.
