One Person Was Killed In An Accident In Flagstaff Friday Night

A Phoenix woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident Friday night on Butler Avenue in Flagstaff. Police responded to Butler Avenue near Fourth Street at around 10 p.m. Investigators say one vehicle appeared to have crossed the center line and caused the driver of a second vehicle to take evasive measures. A passenger in the second vehicle, 25-year-old Monica Heckel of Phoenix, was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other people in the second vehicle were injured and taken to Flagstaff Medical Center and are in stable condition. The driver of the first vehicle has been identified as 37-year-old Joshua Ferrante of Flagstaff. He has been arrested and charged with the death of Heckel. Police say impairment is believed to have been a factor in the accident, however lab results are pending. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
