Flagstaff Police have arrested a Tuba City man after a fatal shooting Tuesday night in Flagstaff. Officers were called to the 200 block of West High Country Trail at around 11:06 p.m. after reports of multiple gunshots in the area. When they arrived they found 34-year-old Jessica Biakeddy of Gilbert lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began life-saving efforts on her until medical personnel arrived. She was transported to Flagstaff Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. Jessica’s relative told police Biakeddy was passing through town with her boyfriend, 29-year-old Justin Colorado from Tuba City. The two had been arguing via text message and she had left the house where she was staying at around 10 p.m. Colorado was identified as the boyfriend and primary suspect in the shooting. While officers were searching Flagstaff for the man, Colorado was found near Native Route 21 on the Navajo Nation and was taken into custody without incident. During the investigation, Colorado was found to have been allegedly involved in another shooting in the Tuba City/Kaibeto area. He is currently in the custody of Navajo Police. The investigation is ongoing.
