Three People Are Dead After A Group Fell Through The Ice On Woods Canyon Lake Monday

Three people are dead after a group tried to walk across frozen Woods Canyon Lake on the Mogollon Rim Monday afternoon. Coconino County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the lake at around 3:15 p.m. after there was a call for help after two men and a woman, fell through the ice at the lake as they were walking across. When responding units arrived, they were able to pull the female, Haritha Muddana from the water and conduct life-saving measures on her, but she was pronounced dead. Cold water searchers from the Coconino County and Gila County sheriff’s offices and DPS, searched the lake for 49-year-old Narayana Muddana and 49-year-old Gokul Mediseti and turned up nothing Monday evening. Their bodies were found and pulled out of the lake by searchers Tuesday. The three were all from Chandler, by way of India. The incident is under investigation.
