Man Who Died When His Truck Fell Off An Overpass Friday In Prescott Has Been Identified

The man who died after the truck he was driving fell off the overpass at the intersection of Highway 89A and southbound 89 in Prescott Friday has been identified. Authorities say 73-year-old Arthur Smith Junior from Chino Valley was driving the truck when it went off the overpass and fell on top of another vehicle just after 1:45 p.m. Friday. He was driving on eastbound Pioneer Parkway toward Prescott Valley. Witnesses told state troopers that Smith had been driving erratically and entered the median of the road, drove through a cable barrier before falling off the bridge. The driver of the vehicle that was hit below the overpass suffered non-life threatening injuries. He was taken to Yavapai Regional Medical Center for treatment.
