One person was killed after a morning accident Tuesday in the Prescott Country Club area of Dewey. Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies were called to an area of North Old Chisholm Trail, south of Stirrup Drive at around 11:22 a.m. When they arrived they found a 2019 Kia Sedan in a culvert next to the front yard of a home. A witness told investigators that the car was seen traveling at around 60 miles an hour north on Chisholm Trail and lost control, hitting the culvert and crashing. Residents tried to get the man out of the vehicle, who was the only one inside. Emergency personnel arrived and attempted to revive the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. He wasn’t wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident and alcohol may have played a factor in the crash.
