Chino Valley Man Killed In A Head On Collision Saturday North Of Paulden

A Chino Valley man was killed in a head-on collision Saturday on Highway 89 north of Paulden. Central Arizona Fire and Medical says the accident involved two vehicles. DPS says a male driver tried to pass in a no passing zone and collided with a female driver head-on coming the other direction. Authorities say 21-year-old Joel Obermeyer was pronounced dead at the scene and the female was airlifted to Flagstaff Medical Center and is in critical conditions with serious injuries. The highway was shut down while crews removed the wreckage and investigated the accident.
