One person was killed after a vehicle hit two pedestrians at the intersection of Country Club Drive and Highway 89 and then left the scene Friday night in Flagstaff. The accident happened before 9 p.m. Both victims were taken to Flagstaff Medical Center. One of the victims were pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital. The other victim is in stable condition. Witnesses told police they saw the victims in the northbound lanes of North Highway 89 when they were struck by the vehicle. The intersection does not have any crosswalks or pedestrian crossings. The suspect was found a short time later. Arrested was 30-year-old Eric Chapman. He was charged with leaving the scene of a fatal collision. Police say impairment may have been a factor in the accident, but the investigation is ongoing and pending lab results. Country Club Drive was closed for about two hours, but reopened shorter after 11 p.m.
