Northland Family Help Center is trying to buy a new van, to replace a very old one, for the youth shelter that uses it to take kids to school, the doctor, work and more. They have raised $10-thousand, but if they win the State Farm Neighborhood Assist competition, they will win $25-thousand and will be able to get a nice transportation vehicle. Northland Family Help Center’s HALO House has been compassionately serving Northern Arizona for the past 44 years. NFHC operates Coconino County’s only shelter for unaccompanied youth, ages birth-to-17. The shelter is gender inclusive and has 15 beds and provides an immediate response and intervention to youth homelessness. Advocates provide 24-hour supervision, in a safe and healing environment and offer crisis intervention and stabilization, among other services. Voting starting today and lasts until May 6th at 11:59 p.m.
