2020 has been a year for the record books weatherwise and not in a good way. Many cities and towns in Northern Arizona are seeing one of the driest years on record. The National Weather Service says between January First and Saturday, Flagstaff is almost ten inches of precipitation below normal. Flagstaff usually sees over 18-inches of precipitation this time of year. This year the city has seen eight-and-a-half inches, making it the third driest year on record thus far. Prescott usually sees nearly 15-and-a-half inches of precipitation. So far, Prescott has also seen around eight-and-a-half inches, making it the fifth-driest on record. Show Low has seen the sixth driest, Payson the fifth and Page has seen the second driest, with just nearly two inches of precipitation so far in 2020.
