Growth of the Johnson Fire burning south of Prescott stalled yesterday thanks to thunderstorms in the area. However, fire managers say the rainfall was insufficient in reducing the fire’s potential as only a quarter of an inch fell over the fire. The Johnson Fire is burning about eight miles south of Prescott. It has burned 187 acres in the Prescott National Forest since it was spotted Sunday afternoon. The cause of the fire is not known.
