There are two additional deaths and 82 more positive cases of COVID-19 Monday on the Navajo Nation. Health officials say there are now 102 deaths on the reservation with 3,204 cases of the coronavirus. Of the confirmed cases, 825 are in Apache County, 665 are in Navajo County and 331 in Coconino County. The most cases of COVID-19 on the Navajo Nation is in McKinley County, New Mexico with 865 cases. President Jonathan Nez and Vice President Myron Lizer announced Monday the Navajo Nation will extend its declaration of a state of emergency and the closure of government offices until a date that is still being determined. The current executive order was set to expire on May 17th. Nearly five-thousand Navajo families have received essential items in various communities on the reservation. Work continues to make sure supplies are available for those who need them.
