The Navajo Nation is preparing to reinstitute its stay-at-home order and the 57-hour weekend curfew policy. Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez and Vice President Myron Lizer say there’s an increase in COVID-19 cases in the Sage Memorial Hospital service area and in satellite chapters in the Eastern Navajo Agency. The increase is reportedly due to family gatherings without social distancing or wearing of face coverings. The Navajo Nation saw 11 new cases on Monday with no additional deaths. The new number does not include the cluster cases that are under investigation.
