The Navajo Nation has implemented a reservation-wide, 57-hour weekend curfew to begin this weekend due to the community spread of the coronavirus. Health officials say the intent and purpose of the emergency order is to further restrict movement of people on the Navajo Nation between 8 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday. Officials say failure to comply with the order “constitutes an imminent threat and menace to public health.” The order states all people shall remain at home during this time, except in the event of an emergency. The order also does not apply to essential employees reporting to and from work. There have been 354 positive cases of COVID-19 with 14 deaths so far on the Navajo Nation.
