The Navajo Nation heads into another curfew weekend with 180 new cases of COVID-19 and six more deaths. Health officials say the new numbers bring overall totals to 1,540 positive cases and 58 deaths on the reservation. There has been 8,978 tests administered so far, 6,473 have been negative results. There are 386 positive cases in Navajo County, 342 in Apache County and 238 in Coconino County. Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez says the high rise in positive tests is partly due to “more testing that’s available, including rapid testing.” The Navajo Nation will be under another 57-hour curfew from 8 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.
