The Navajo Nation reached a positive milestone in the fight against COVID-19 Sunday. Health officials reported 25 new cases, which marks 24 straight days with less than 100 new cases. However, officials do report seven new deaths from the virus. The total number of deaths is 422. Nearly 86-hundred people have tested positive for the virus since testing began, with 6,360 recoveries. There have been nearly 73-thousand people tested on the Navajo Nation. Weekend curfews have been extended to August 3rd and tribal officials are developing an order that will require residents of the Navajo Nation to quarantine for 14 days when they return to the reservation, if they travel to COVID-19 “hotspots.”
