Navajo Nation Goes Back Into Weekend Curfew Tonight

The Navajo Nation is going back into a 57-hour weekend curfew for the next two weekends, starting tonight, as Arizona continues to see a spike in COVID-19 cases. Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez said in a Facebook Town Hall this week the curfew is out of precaution. State health officials say there were over 25-hundred new cases of COVID-19 Thursday, which set a new daily record since testing began in March. The tribe has tested over 20-percent of the population and currently has a downward bend of the curve. The Navajo Nation has seen over 68-hundred positive cases with nearly 34-hundred recoveries. The curfew goes into effect at 8 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.
