Navajo Nation Declares State Of Emergency, Casinos Cut Back On Operating Hours

The Navajo Nation declared a state of emergency last week due to the coronavirus pandemic. Tribal officials say all Navajo Nation offices will be closed for three weeks through April 3rd. During the closure, the Department of Self Relience will continue processing full cash benefits for all current DSR members for the month of April. They will also be accepting documents, via drop boxes, at each DSR office on March 18th, March 25th and April 1st. The declaration also covers offices, schools and some businesses. As for gaming, Twin Arrows Casino Resort will close the casino floor between 2 a.m. and 9 a.m., Arrows Sports Bar will be open from 10 a.m. until 1 a.m. and Four Elements Cafe will cut back on hours. The buffet is closed until further notice.
