Deaths and cases of COVID-19 were lower Tuesday on the Navajo Nation. Health officials report one death and 41 new cases of the coronavirus. There are now 103 deaths and 3,245 positive cases of COVID-19 on the reservation. Of the confirmed cases, 846 are in Apache County, 677 are in Navajo County and 332 in Coconino County. The most cases of COVID-19 on the Navajo Nation is in McKinley County, New Mexico with 867 cases. President Jonathan Nez and Vice President Myron Lizer announced the Navajo Nation will extend its declaration of a state of emergency and the closure of government offices until June 7th. The current executive order was set to expire on May 17th.
