Three members of the NAU women’s basketball team received Big Sky honors Sunday. Junior guard Regan Schenck picked up All-Big Sky second team honors for her impressive season for the Lumberjacks. She enters this week’s Big Sky Tournament averaging over 12 points, six rebounds and five assists a game. Senior Khiarica Rasheed was named to the third team and J.J. Nakai was named honorable mention, but also took home Big Sky Newcomer of the Year. Nakai is a graduate of Coconino High School in Flagstaff and spent last season at Nevada and Pima Community College before that. She is fourth in the Big Sky in scoring at nearly 15 points a game. NAU will open up Big Sky Tournament play Monday as the seven seed. They will play 10th-seeded Weber State at 5 p.m.
